Blue tone seascapes

Pre-K students have been busy the past 2 weeks creating an ocean beautiful enough to frame. This lesson had two learning goals: to learn how to create different tones from one color (in this case primary blue and light blue), and to improve cutting skills.

The first week, we painted curvy lines in blue, and then realized if you add white to blue paint it creates light blue. We created even more curvy lines with light blue, since Pre-K are curvy line experts now. We left these oceans to dry for the following week:










This week we added to our seascapes by cutting out goldfish and sailboats, then decorating and gluing them onto our oceans:



















I prefer pre-k over Claude Monet anyday!
