City Skyscrapers Silhouettes

Today, 5th graders used our Matisse leaf watercolors as the background for city silhouettes. We began a new unit today on cities, and were able to use our old artwork to make it complete.

First, we cut out the city silhouettes on black construction paper. We did some research of skylines of some of our favorite cities (I used Philadelphia as my example).

Then we glued the skylines to our Matisse watercolor backgrounds, and used white paint to create dot windows and a dot- textured moon glowing above.
