Mona Lisa parody art

Today, 7th graders learned how to take serious art and make it fun. We did some research on different types of parodies, especially parodies about DaVinci's Mona Lisa. Usually, when something is as famous as the Mona Lisa, there is someone out there that will make a comical version. Sure enough, if you google Mona Lisa parody there are endless Mona Lisa's in unexpected scenarios. We made a list of different ways to parody art, and then they began their own. They used photocopies of Mona Lisa, cutting out her face and hands, the most iconic parts of the original, and glued it onto their paper in a different way. Then they decorated her and the background, putting Mona Lisa into their own scenarios.







This week, we put the finishing touches on our Mona Lisa parodies with oil pastels:
