They all wrote their names in hieroglyphs (you can see some letters are a lot more complicated than others... sorry for any Leonel's out there)
Then, we explored different ancient Egyptian art-forms and noticed that they used a lot of gold and blue, as well as lines. Golds and yellow were so popular in Egyptian art because they represented the sun. Blue was so common because it was easy to make; it was made combining iron and copper oxides with silica and calcium; and it represented the sky and water. We decided to paint our names using an ancient Egyptian style, focusing on the "New Kingdom" period.
We will be finishing up our Hieroglyph names on Friday, make sure to check back to see the final results!
