Today, Pre-K learned how to make realistic rain with paint splatters. It's been very rainy here in Santo Domingo lately, so we began by singing Mr. Sun, trying to get the sun to shine and the rain to stay away. Then, children drew a self portrait of themself underneath a big umbrella. They used colorful crayons for their portraits. When they were done coloring, they used blue paint and a big brush to splatter all over their pages. We made sure to use some half-circle shaped cardboard to cover up the umbrella and self portraits from getting wet with paint.
Drawings before the splatter. . .
Splatter time!
